On the 16th of April 1998, I first got and drove the Austin Metro 1.3. I was 8 years, 3 months and 28 days old
when I first drove this car. Clutch control was the hardest thing at first, but I got used to it. (Except I was
hopeless at hillstarts!)
The car was great fun, you could go as fast as you want and if you crashed, so what? (so long as you don't hit someone
else's car!) My dad drove it at 50mph up my lane, which when you drive at 30mph you can lose control. I never
crashed or bumped it but I let someone else drive it. They thought you had to floor it all the time. They hit
a tree, on a straight putting a dent into my car's wing.
Unfortunately the car got a bit to rusty. Here is a picture of it today, probaly where it will
be forever.
